Students from VinUni secured top honors in both national and international startup contests with their groundbreaking edtech initiative, Finful.

October 6, 2026 – Nguyen Luu Anh Tuan, a College of Engineering & Computer Science student, launched Finful to bridge the knowledge gap in personal finance among Vietnamese youth, aiming to foster greater economic stability and confidence. His commitment stems from witnessing widespread confusion over basic financial concepts, which often results in detrimental outcomes for young adults.

Finful stands out by breaking complex financial topics into digestible lessons enriched with vibrant visuals and interactive elements, making learning both accessible and enjoyable. The platform’s unique approach addresses critical issues such as inadequate financial literacy, susceptibility to scams, and the absence of proactive financial planning—problems highlighted by real-life stories like that of a mother who lost her life savings due to deceptive schemes.

Tuan emphasizes the importance of integrating practical financial skills with everyday decision-making, especially during crises like the COVID-19 pandemic, where understanding insurance and investment could have mitigated hardship. He outlines key advantages of Finful: bite-sized learning modules, flexible online access, visually engaging content, and hands-on case studies that simulate real-world scenarios.

Looking ahead, Tuan envisions expanding Finful’s reach beyond urban centers to rural communities and underserved populations, ensuring broader societal impact. He acknowledges the challenge of balancing profitability with inclusivity but remains optimistic about partnerships and scaling strategies as the platform matures. Collaboration with VinUni’s E-Lab, mentorship from industry leaders like Marc Kramer, and ongoing support from investors fuel Finful’s growth trajectory.

Reflecting on his journey, Tuan recalls meeting Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister, who reinforced the significance of youth innovation in driving global progress. This experience, combined with exposure to diverse entrepreneurial ecosystems, strengthened his resolve to refine Finful’s offerings and expand its influence worldwide. Looking forward, he plans to dedicate a gap year to enhance product development before launching new features and seeking additional backing.

The story concludes with gratitude and anticipation for future milestones, as Tuan prepares to present Finful at upcoming forums and continues advocating for accessible financial education across Vietnam and beyond.
