BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Duc (David) A. Tran is a tenured Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts in Boston (USA), where he is Director of the Network Computing Lab and a Member of the University’s Faculty Council. His research interest is network computing, with current focus on blockchain and federated learning. His research (70+ ISI/Scopus publications) has received funding awards from the US National Science Foundation and Best Paper Award at three international computing conferences. He has graduated 5 PhD students, among whom two are tenure-track professors at US universities and one is a Research Associate at MIT. Prof. Tran is a Senior Member of the ACM and the IEEE. He is a frequent Review Panelist for the US National Science Foundation and on the Editorial Board for three ISI/Scopus journals. He obtained a PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida (USA) in 2003.
