Nearly fifty students – marking a new era for scientific education in Vietnam – have embarked on their journey with the inaugural cohort of VinUniversity's Master of Science programs. These students were selected from a highly competitive applicant pool spanning Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
President Mai Lan graciously welcomed the group during the official opening ceremony, emphasizing the significance of nurturing future researchers capable of turning ideas into tangible breakthroughs. The program stands out by offering 100% tuition coverage, a monthly stipend of 20 million VND, comprehensive research funding, and assistance with publishing scientific papers.
Students will collaborate directly with leading professors and researchers, joining dynamic research teams to address pressing real-world scientific and technological challenges. Do Minh Phung, the student representative, shared his enthusiasm for representing the new generation of scholars at the event.
The ceremony also featured a glimpse into the future of academic excellence at VinUniversity, highlighted through several photographs showcasing campus life and student achievements.
Recent milestones at VinUniversity include achieving ACEN accreditation for its Bachelor of Nursing program—the first in Vietnam to meet U.S. standards—winning the Gold Award for Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development, and participating in international dialogues on Asia’s scientific potential. Additional highlights feature collaborations with industry leaders such as Vingroup’s AI talent initiative, and securing pioneering DFAT funding for climate-resilient agriculture projects.
Furthermore, VinUniversity has become the first Vietnamese institution to join the prestigious Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU), expanding global academic partnerships. The university continues to celebrate academic achievements, including appointments like Prof. Phan Mänh Hùng as an American Physical Society Fellow, and milestones such as Dr. Le Mai Lan breaking her own glass ceiling.
