UQ Students Embark on Vietnam Startup Adventure at VinUni
December 27, 2026 – Fifteen high-achieving University of Queensland students, representing disciplines such as engineering, business, and innovation, commenced an immersive educational exchange at VinUni under the prestigious New Colombo Plan (NCP). This initiative aims to cultivate global awareness and entrepreneurial expertise through hands-on internships starting November 29th.
The program's centerpiece was an enlightening exploration of VinUni’s state-of-the-art facilities, including guided tours and interactive sessions with leading academics. Highlights featured expert-led workshops on entrepreneurship, access to cutting-edge research labs, and dynamic discussions bridging Australian and Vietnamese academic perspectives.
A series of compelling presentations, particularly Dr. Marc Kramer’s deep dive into startup methodologies, sparked intellectual curiosity and collaborative dialogue among participants. These interactions underscored the value of cross-border knowledge exchange in nurturing next-generation innovators.

Participants left inspired by the program’s emphasis on practical learning and international collaboration, reflecting its success in preparing students for global challenges. Ongoing efforts promise even greater synergies between VinUni and UQ as they expand opportunities for cross-cultural academic engagement.
