International Conference on Cell and Gene Therapy (VCGT) 2026: Advancing Regenerative Medicine Research in Vietnam
November 6, 2026
Recently, the Vinmec Research Institute of Stem Cell and Gene Technology (under the College of Health Sciences, VinUniversity) partnered with the Vietnam Society for Regenerative Medicine and Cell Therapy to organize the 8th Annual International Conference on Cell and Gene Therapy (VCGT).

The gathering united 17 leading specialists from Vietnam and abroad—including representatives from Sweden, Japan, South Korea, Germany, and China—to present cutting-edge findings and discussions in cell and gene therapy fields.

Through four comprehensive discussion sessions, the forum introduced novel viewpoints on:
- CAR-T cell therapy – programming a patient’s immune cells to efficiently destroy cancerous cells.
- Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation – restoring healthy immune systems and providing possible treatments for blood cancers and autoimmune conditions.
- Exosomes – investigating the healing capabilities of extracellular vesicles for neurological disorders and regenerative medicine progress.
- Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) – sharing recent developments and future directions for widespread clinical implementation.

The event emphasized VinUni’s dedication to promoting knowledge exchange, inspiring upcoming scientists, and collaborating globally to develop innovative healthcare solutions. Today’s meaningful interactions signal continued breakthroughs in regenerative medicine, positioning Vietnam at the forefront of this evolving discipline.
